our story

journey to peru

It all started with a volunteering trip to Cusco in Peru, back in March 2013, when the two Lebanese sisters, Yasmina and Elissa Yared fell in love with the Peruvian gastronomy and decided to go back to their homeland, Lebanon, and to Peruvian cuisine to the region.

The two sisters started the entrepreneurial project and created CINCO Beirut, first Peruvian restaurant and cocktail bar in the Middle East. The main challenge was to implement the entire supply chain of main produce and ingredients from Peru to Lebanon as there were no Peruvian suppliers in the region. The other challenge was to introduce the Peruvian gastronomy to the Lebanese who weren’t familiar with its richness.

I visited the best restaurants in Shanghai, Paris, Prague, Madrid, Geneva, Rome, London, Cape Town, New York, San Francisco, etc. Peru is on another level. Peru is our hidden treasure! Peru changed my life! - said Yasmina Yared, co-founder of CINCO and SAPA brands.

After the great success story of CINCO, the two sisters create SAPA Beirut, the second Peruvian restaurant and cocktail bar in Lebanon, an internationally award-winning restaurant.

When Gaston Acurio, the ambassador of Peruvian cuisine with over 50 restaurants around the world asked to be our mentor as we’re sharing the same mission of exporting Peruvian culture to the world, I was humbled and I had the confidence that our journey has just begun! - said Elissa Yared,
co-founder of CINCO and SAPA brands.

The two sisters created their own brand of Pisco, Pisco CINCO, produced, distilled and bottled in Lunahuana, Peru. Pisco CINCO, made of a secret recipe of five types of grapes, won the gold medal in the Concours Mondial De Bruxelles in 2014.

The two sisters have been pursuing their mission on innovating in the food and beverage sector and on exporting the marvelous Peruvian gastronomy to the world.
